Go Aggies Go Aggies Hey Hey Hey!

We had a fun weekend. We went to the Utah State basketball game against San Jose State. The boys loved it ... after they got used to the noise. Simon loved cheering Go Aggies, Go Aggies Hey Hey Hey! Bryce participated in a contest for the school of business during the first time out. He and another guy had to drag a girl on a blanket in a race. They won and we now get a free night stay at the University Inn! I know, exciting!
On another note... this week... Our brother in law (on Bryce's side) was in a car accident. He was on his way to work and hit the back of a truck. He was on the freeway going 80 miles an hour and the truck was nearly stopped. He hit the truck and then hit into the median. His car started on fire and he was able to grab his cell phone and pry open the door and get out. The first cop to the seen automatically called life support because he thought for sure whoever was in the car was pretty much gone. But he called it off when he realized Jason was standing outside the car.
They couldn't put the fire out with two extinguishers so they just let the car burn. The cops kept telling Jason that he shouldn't be alive... he hit the back of a stopped truck going 80 miles an hour!!! The truck never pulled over and they still haven't found it.
The Spectrum! You cant tell from this picture but Bryce is down on the floor just about to win us a free night stay at the University Inn. (these pictures aren't great because I used my phone).
The boys cheering on the Aggies... Levi stayed asleep in the Baby Bjorn through the whole game!
This is my Sister-in-law Christy with her kids in front of the burnt car. Glad we still have Jason!

Good Morning!

These pictures kind of some up our mornings around here.
Calvin is usually the first one up. He gets up with dad and eats oatmeal. He then plays by himself. Simon wakes up and throws his "scary" pirate blanket out of the crib. He only likes his "blanky" so Bryce sneaks in after he is asleep and puts an extra blanket on him. He realizes it in the morning and gets mad and throws it. Simon also has to have all his animals with him when he sleeps... he then wakes up in the morning and spends about fifteen minutes playing with them before he crawls out of the crib. Levi... well he just eats and sleeps.
Simon with his blanky and all his animals... I have no idea how he sleeps in there. Lets see... there is a stuffed turtle, two stuffed dogs, hobbes (tiger), two elephants, one lion, and one giraffe... oh and one goofy kid!
Simons "scary" blanket thrown on the floor. It is funny because he does this every morning and it has been going on for about 2 months now.
Calvin playing in the front room by himself with his "humongous" crane.
And Levi... asleep. Love it!

Around the House

Things have been going really well here. I have found... so far... that three are easier than two (at least when we are home). It was hard when Simon was born because Calvin wanted all my attention. It was really hard to nurse.
This time is easier because Calvin and Simon play all day together and could care less if I am busy with Levi. Going out is another story although we did it today and I think I did a pretty good job.
We went to the doctor today for Levi's two week appointment. He gained a few ounces he went from 7 lbs 1 oz (birth weigth) to 7 lbs 10 oz. The doctor was happy that he had gained weight. They usually are happy if they are back the baby is back at its birth weight at two weeks. He was surprised that Levi only eats every 3 to 4 hours and sleeps 5 hours at night. He said to let him sleep because he is gaining weight so well. Good job Levi... you must know that your mom really needs the sleep :)
Here are a few pictures:
The boys getting ready for bed tonight.

Levi's Mullet. He has more hair than Calvin and Simon had.
I asked Simon what he was building and he said a temple... I said thats awesome... and He said "its beautiful!

Yum Yum

The boys were being so cute during dinner tonight. Calvin was telling jokes... "how did the duck cross the road?... he jumped" I know, pretty funny. Simon was dressed in his new hand me down Thomas pajamas with his fireman boots on. He was singing "Fireman Sam saves the day!"
I finally said "You guys are so cute! Can I just eat you guys up?" Calvin then says..."No, that would be a lot of work. Hands, Eyes, Mouth, Nose, Boogers... and boogers wouldn't taste good."
Ok, so I am not going to eat my boys... specially their boogers! :)

Just Chillin

We have been staying home and inside these past couple of days. It has been nice to be home. It was great that we had snow on Monday. The boys went outside to shovel and play. Bryce made a maze in the driveway for the boys to play in. We are expecting more snow and we cant wait!
Today was my first day home alone with three kids. We all did pretty well... granted we didn't try to leave. I am so thankful I have good boys that can be entertained with playdough and cars all day. We had a fun day, but we were really excited when dad came home:)
Burying Calvin in the snow.
Who needs sand when you have snow?
This sums up Calvin and snow. He loves it! He can spend hours in it. Simon has to get talked into a little bit, but Calvin is all for it.
How tall all the boys are

What could be better that three boys together. Can you imagine when they leave on their missions?
Calvin couldn't let Levi miss out on the fun we had this morning. He gave him two cars to play with.

Levi is Home!

Levi is home now :) This has kind of been an eventful week! As soon as we got home from the hospital, we packed up to go down to Salt Lake. Calvin and Simon were already down at Grandma and Grandpa Huffs. Bryce's uncle passed away from ALS the same day that Levi was born. So we decided to stay in Salt Lake for the funeral.
We had some visitors come to see the new little guy and then we headed back up to Logan so Bryce could start concentrating on school again. We are so thankful for all the help from friends and family... specially to Grandma and Grandpa Huff for watching Calvin and Simon. Also special thanks to Grandma Baggaley for coming up and helping and Grandpa Baggaley for letting her come up on his birthday! Love you guys!
...Calvin and Simon are also doing well. Calvin smothers Levi with kisses and hugs. He is a great helper. Simon isn't too interested in Levi other than he loves to stick the binky in his mouth.

My mom and Levi... he would not open his eyes!

The New Guy

Yesterday Melissa and I were reading an article from Thomas S. Monson in which he said
"We can’t direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails." Melissa did not realize how soon she would need to apply this message.

This morning she woke up with some sporadic contractions. They were coming in uneven waves of two and she was not sure they were full contractions but maybe just Brakstin Hicks. I was about to leave for class at 9 when they turned really hard and she gave the green light for going to the hospital. We sent Calvin and Simon over to our wonderful nieghbor Amanda Bennion, called my mom to come up to Logan and headed for the hospital.

At check-in, Melissa was at a 5 and all vitals were good. The contractions were coming now in regular waves of two. The first contraction was the hardest and then the follow up contraction was a bit lighter. They had to run some blood work before she could get a go ahead on getting an epidural. Her plan was to get one until when they checked her after an hour and the contractions were getting really painful. She had jumped to a 10 and was ready to push. There was no time to get an epidural and she realized that she would need to go natural. As the next contraction hit she focused on a point in the room adjusted her sails and said "I can do this!"

The doctor (Horsely) came in just in time. She pushed for maybe 10 min and we were blessed with the arrival of our new baby boy. It was an intense hour with her progressing and delivering so fast.

I am so amazed at her strength, courage and determination. I am the luckiest husband in the whole world. So without further ado I present the New Guy. I call him the New Guy because we are still trying to decide between Zachary and Levi.

New Guy: 7 lbs 1 oz, 19.5 inches long, born January 10, 2012 at 10:54 am.

As the father of this little growing family, thank you for all of the support from friends and family. We are truly blessed beyond measure with our cup running over.

Quote of the Day

I needed to add a picture so I just uploaded this one. This is my dad and Simon reading the Sunday comics together during Christmas Break. So cute.
Today at church my new little CTR 5 girl said to me "My mom is fat like you are!" I am glad that someone else is fat like I am too:)
