Hyrum Leo Huff

It is officially! We are pure chaos! Now we have FOUR boys! Yes we are crazy Hyrum Leo Huff was born October 8, 2013 at 10:44 weighing in at 7 pounds 7 Ounces and was 20 1/2 inches tall.
Birth Story:
On Monday the 7th I went to the doctors office and he said I was at a 3 and 80% effaced and was "soft." I went home thinking "soft" is what my doctor said the day before I had Levi so I figured it probably would come soon. That night I started having contractions but they were really irregular. I woke up on and off throughout the night with contractions. In the morning, I debated sending Bryce to work but came to the conclusion it was best but to keep his phone on! The day was up and down with contractions. My emotions kept going up and down. I am thankful for a patient husband and a loving mom encouraging me through out the day. Finally at 2 pm I called Bryce and told him to meet me at his parents. They were coming stronger and while I was walking around. I packed the kids in the car and picked Calvin up from his friends and headed to my in laws. Bryce and I headed to the hospital with contractions getting more regular. As we walked to the hospital and through the doors my contractions slowed down and were barely visible... I SWEAR THERE IS A FORCEFIELD AROUND THE HOSPITAL THAT WONT LET YOU GO INTO LABOR.
My doctor called me and wondered why I hadn't checked in. I told him why and he told me to go home and come in and see him tomorrow. I started to cry! Poor Bryce got the blunt of it too. I was not a happy camper to say the least. We went back to Bryce's parents and I tried to take a nap. During the nap my contractions got stronger and stronger. We got the kids ready for bed and headed to the hospital - side note Bryce hurt his back and was also laying on his back in pain.
We checked into the hospital and I was at a six. The nurse asked me if I wanted an epidural and I told her to ask me when the anesthesiologist was ready (he was in surgery and another girl had priority over me). The nurse came in again about 45 minutes and asked again. She checked me and I was at a 9 and my water was just about to break. It took all I had to say it but I decided to go without an epidural. The contraction were hard but I was doing a good job breathing through them. About ten minutes later my water broke... The first contraction after that was much more painful. I started to scream and Bryce reminded me to breath. The next contraction I had to push. The nurse hurried to the phone to call the on call doctor and just then my doctor walked through the door. He got everything ready and I began to push. About three contractions later Hyrum was born.
Wow what a wonderful experience! I am thankful for Bryce that helped me through it. He was great. When my doctor came to check on me the next day he said he was amazed how calm I was through the delivery. He said most girls dont choose to do natural and when they do natural they dont stay calm. (I did have Levi natural and I was not calm through that one. I think I learned a lot from his birth). So now is the overload of pictures:
The boys at Grandma Huff's before we left for the hospital
The boys came to visit the next day... Simon with his goofy face as usual
Levi loves Hyrum... a little too much. Calvin didn't want to "hurt the baby" at first and then he warmed up and wanted to touch him. I think we talked to much about how careful we had to be with the baby.
My niece Chelsee came to the delivery. She is in nursing at Weber and lives across the street from the hospital. It was great to have her there.
Hyrum after the delivery.
He has quite a bit of light brown hair.
The boys chillin in the bed.

These flowers were from Bryce for two reasons. Having Hyrum and our Anniversary was October 11th... Happy 8th Anniversary Bryce... very eventful :)
Just before we left for home. Hyrum just looking at Daddy.
I chose this outfit because I love Halloween and I think it is fun I have a baby with an October birthday
On our way home
Do you think Hyrum will survive in our home???
Best Buds... Levi doesn't want to hold Hyrum. He wants him to sit next to him like Hyrum is his friend.

Birthday Hike 2013

My birthday has come and gone. We had a good weekend. Thursday was my actual birthday and we went to dinner and looked for Halloween decorations. We did have an adventure in the Target parking lot but now we can look back and laugh at it... sort of :) We did my birthday hike on Sunday. I love this tradition. I love that my boys look forward to my birthday. Calvin said to me " I love your birthday because we get to go on a hike!" That makes me feel good. We went on Sunday this year because it was rainy up until then. Because it was cold, there was actually snow on our hike. We haven't had that in the past eight years so it was a little different. The boys hiked great and it smelled so good on our hike. I love that crisp fall air. Calvin held my hand the whole way.  In primary that day he told me he was told to help others and he was going to help me hike. Love that little gentleman.
Our waterfall
This picture is hillarious... we always snap the same picture every year to see how our family has grown. Take a good look at Simon. So typical Simon! He has his eyes crossed. The funny thing about this is that the camera is set up for 15 seconds so that Bryce can run back into the picture. Dont know how long Simon held that face! He cracks me up!

Calvin's First Day of School

Calvin started kindergarten this year. It has been a little hard getting him out the door... he takes forever to eat breakfast. But once he is off, he loves it! He is my social bee. He wants to play with a friend every day after school. The first day of school he had three friends he was begging to play with. It is great for him. He has turned into my fashion bug. He knows exactly what he wants to wear each day. He picked out his high tops which I had no idea were in style. (I had to make a call to Aunt Lindsey to see what Keller would think :) We also have learned how much my boys love Legos. They will spend all day playing Legos... literally! I have to beg them to get there pajamas on at night after playing for 5 hours! We are so thankful for the Legos!

Happy 4th Birthday Simon

Happy Fourth Birthday Simon. We started off the day with making a "Green Ninjago" cake while watching Ninjagos. We went to lunch with Dad up Mueler Park. As usual we played Legos. And Finished off by picking Pears at Grandma and Grandpa Huffs with Cake and Ice Cream. We love Simon.
Some of our favorite things about Simon:
He says "Sure" instead of yes
He loves anything Ninja
He loves to say LONG prayers
He wont sleep with anyone... even if it is a queen size bed. He would rather sleep on the floor
He loves playing with his brothers... mostly Legos

Defense!!!

So this has kind of been my life lately... no not soccer... DEFENSE!!! So I played 4 years of college soccer. I played "Sweeper" all four years. So essentially I was all about DEFENSE! I played against amazing girls. Even ones that played on the national team. I did my best at stopping goals and not letting anyone get past me... And I did a pretty good job.
So you ask where is this going? Meet my opponents now:
Namely: Calvin, Simon and Levi. "The Huff Brothers!" I have to say they so far are my hardest opponents I have ever played against! And the funny thing? We are in the process of creating another Huff brother! Yep due October 18th.
This defense is different though. It is not on the soccer field. It is the kind of defense that you are cleaning the carpet from a bloody nose as one is on the kitchen table playing in the peanut butter and the other is out getting the back car hatch stuck on the garage. I cant keep up... no matter how hard I try. They score many "Goals" on me and I dont even have any help from "offsides" or a goalie to back me up. But do you know what? I love my little soccer team! They are the best and I wouldn't trade in a minute of "control" for any one of my kids! I love them and am excited to see what this new little boy will bring to our home... But I am really thankful when I get a weekend when Bryce takes them all camping!

Soccer Boys

Calvin and Simon played soccer this Spring. It was fun to coach Calvin. He has learned to stay out of the bunch and wait for the ball to pop out. Simon is really good at scoring a goal... when he can focus:) He scored a goal his last game and it was pretty exciting... dribbled the ball all the way from one goal to the other, and it was even in the correct goal! We love soccer!

Little Levi

This boy is just the cutest kid right not. We have so much fun with him. He loves to mow the lawn. He will do it for hours. If his lawn mower is in the garage, he will hit the garage for me to open it. So cute! Love him!

#1 Reason to Invite Missionaries Over

#1 Reason to Invite Missionaries Over for Dinner:

Your Kids Survive!!!!

We had just finished dinner with the Missionaries and Bryce and I were talking with the Elders at the table. The boys were in our room playing. All the sudden, the light flickers and we hear a sizzle sound. All of us at the table just stop. I stood up and went to my room scared to see what I would find. I open the door to see Calvin and Simon with the most terrified look on their faces. I look down to see a medal/plastic hanger hung on the night light that was plugged in. All Calvin could say was there was a big light and Simon did it.
We are so thankful it was a plastic hanger... glad to still have Simon. We are going to have to invest in GFCI's for our whole house. Thanks to missionaries that bring miracles to our house!

Calvin!!!!!!

Lately Calvin has been acting up. I was talking to my friend about it and I think it is two reasons. One, it is snowing like crazy outside and he doesnt get outside too much... plus I think winter plays mind games with you. Two, he is ready to go to school every day and have structure. I think kindergarten will be good for him next year.
So I asked Calvin why he keeps hitting his brother... he said "I dont know, my body just wants to. It isn't me. Why would I want to do that?"
Next time I get mad at Calvin. I am going to blame it on my body... I just cant help it!

A little from the past

I went to two mission farewells yesterday for my cousins. There are three boys that are Daniel's age on the Linton side. They all look a like. It was funny because Simon ran up to Nick and yelled Daniel!(Nick is the cousin going to New York) and then I asked Simon again a little later who "this" was as I pointed to Nick. Simon asked "Is that Daniel?" Oh we miss Daniel. So the point of this is that Nick is brothers with CJ... my cousin that passed away a couple of months ago. Christy gave me some of the pictures she had of CJ and me. Just a fun little memory of the past.
CJ and me at Grandma and Grandpa Linton's
Cute Cousins:)
This is us with our Grandma Linton... She was the sweetest Grandma. You can see her "Dutch" door behind us. I have so many good memories in that kitchen
This is CJ's family with my Grandpa Linton. I love this picture of my Grandpa. He was such a fun happy guy.
